This group performs some or all of the following duties:

  • Coordinate, assign, and review the activities of clerks who perform the following tasks: transporting, receiving, storing, distributing, and maintaining inventories of items; processing purchasing transactions; co-ordinating production work; dispatching workers; scheduling transportation crews and routes; operating airport ramp servicing vehicles; and other related responsibilities.
  • Plan and oversee operational logistics, establish work schedules and procedures, resolve workplace issues, prepare progress reports and coordinate activities with other departments in supply chain.
  • Train staff in the responsibilities, safety procedures, and company regulations that they'll be executing.
  • Requisition supplies and materials
  • Keep computer systems, equipment and machinery running smoothly by arranging for maintenance and repair work as needed.
  • May have to do the same job duties as those who are supervised.
  • A high school diploma is generally required.
  • Usually, several years of experience in the occupation being supervised are required.
