What is the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program?

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AINP) targets workers who have the skills to fill eligible job shortages or to buy or start a business in Alberta. This economic immigration program issues nominations in order for these workers to apply for permanent residence.

The requirements needed to become a candidate in this program is entirely assessed by the government of Alberta, however, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the federal government makes the final decision on these applications.

All successful candidates who receive a nomination, can continue to submit an application for permanent residence status together with their spouse, common-law partner, and dependent children.

Who is eligible to apply?

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program offers four streams — the Opportunity Stream, the Express Entry Stream, the International Graduate Entrepreneur Immigration Stream, and the Self-Employed Farmer stream.
