Canmore Coffee Shops: A local's guide to the best in town

Canary Coffee is a charming café located on Main Street in Canmore and in my opinion is one of the best coffee shops in Canmore. Despite having limited indoor seating, it has a cozy and welcoming ambiance with rustic décor. During the summer months, a few outdoor seats are available, allowing customers to enjoy their coffee while soaking up the sun and taking in the beautiful scenery.

The quality of its coffee which is consistently delicious and never disappoints. The baristas are also incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. Additionally, they offer great sandwiches that are worth trying.

Downtown location

Eclipse Coffee Roasters’ downtown location is a must-visit for coffee lovers in Canmore. While the café may not have loads of seating, they make up for it with its lively and energetic atmosphere. The coffee is roasted in-house and is always fresh and flavorful, with a variety of specialty drinks available.

In addition to their indoor seating, they also offer outdoor seating with a little gas fire all year round, perfect for enjoying your coffee with a stunning view of the mountains. During the summer months, when the main road is closed, the outdoor seating is particularly enjoyable.

Railway Ave. location

For a more modern and sleek coffee shop experience, head over to Eclipse Coffee Roasters’ Railway Ave. location. The interior is stunning, with a beautiful wood-panelled bar and plenty of natural light. Like the downtown location, the coffee is roasted in-house and is always top-notch.

The staff is also friendly and knowledgeable about their coffee, and they’re always happy to chat with customers.

Located up the hill on Benchlands Trail near the Iron Goat, Summit Café is a cozy and inviting spot to grab a cup of coffee or a quick bite to eat. The coffee is locally roasted and always delicious, and they offer a variety of drink options to suit everyone’s tastes. The staff is also incredibly friendly and welcoming, making it a great spot to catch up with friends or get some work done.

But it’s not just the coffee that makes Summit Café worth visiting – they also have a great food menu. Their breakfast burrito is my personal favourite, they also offer a variety of sandwiches and breakfast items. With plenty of seating and a relaxed atmosphere, Summit Café is the perfect spot to start your day or take a break from exploring the town.

Another favourite of mine is Communitea Café, located in downtown Canmore. This spot is known for its healthy food options and relaxed atmosphere. The café also offers a wide variety of teas, smoothies, and other beverages, making it a great spot for non-coffee drinkers as well.

In addition to the great drinks, Communitea also has an amazing food menu. My personal favourite is the pad thai, which is a healthy and tasty option that always hits the spot. The café also offers vegan and gluten-free options, making it a great spot for those with dietary restrictions.

Downtown location

As for JK Bakery’s Railway Ave. location, this hidden gem offers not only fantastic coffee and pastries but also a selection of hand-made sandwiches and soups. The coffee is expertly crafted and always fresh, with a range of specialty drinks available. Their pastry selection is also impressive, with everything from classic croissants to inventive and delicious danishes.

With plenty of natural light and spacious seating, this café is the perfect spot to enjoy a warm bowl of soup or a tasty sandwich alongside your coffee and pastry.

Near Safeway
