MPNP points calculator: Manitoba PNP EOI score 2026
This free MPNP points calculator, also known as a Manitoba PNP points calculator, estimates your MPNP EOI score on the Expression of Interest ranking grid published on immigratemanitoba.com. It scores up to 1,000 points across six factors in about two minutes and compares the result with Manitoba's recent draw scores.
MPNP points calculator
Free. About two minutes. Add your name and email at the end to see your score and get the breakdown by email.
What is your CLB level in reading?
Manitoba scores each of the four abilities on its own and adds the four, so you will be asked about reading, writing, listening and speaking in turn. Use your first official language, the one you are stronger in, from a valid IELTS, CELPIP, TEF or TCF test. Need to convert a score? Use our CLB calculator.
Key takeaways
An MPNP points calculator estimates your Manitoba Expression of Interest ranking score using the grid on immigratemanitoba.com: six factors and up to 1,000 points. It scores your language results band by band, your age, your years of work experience, your education and your connection to Manitoba, then takes off points for work or study in another province. Manitoba invites the highest-scoring candidates in the pool, in selections it sets for each draw.
- This MPNP calculator is free, takes about two minutes and emails you the breakdown.
- The maximum is 1,000, and 500 of those points come from your connection to Manitoba.
- Language is scored on each of four abilities, so one weak band costs points: 25 per band at CLB 8 or higher, 17 at CLB 5.
- Work or study in another province takes off 100 points each, down to -200.
- Manitoba publishes a lowest score only for top-scoring selections: 632 to 825 in the 5 most recent ones.
What does this MPNP points calculator estimate?
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) uses an Expression of Interest system. You answer a series of questions online, receive EOI ranking points for your answers and enter a pool of all eligible candidates. Manitoba then invites the highest-scoring candidates to submit a full application, which it calls a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) (immigratemanitoba.com, EOI page). This MPNP points calculator mirrors the ranking grid so you can see your score before you submit.
The grid applies to the pathways under the Skilled Worker Stream, which are Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas, and to the International Education Stream. The Business Investor Stream has a different, separate EOI process. Our Manitoba (MPNP) overview covers the program as a whole.
The MPNP points grid 2026: every factor and point value
Manitoba ranks an EOI on six factors. Each table below lists every level of every factor in Manitoba's own wording and the points it earns. They are copied from the Expression of Interest page on immigratemanitoba.com, which carries no update date, so we give the day we checked it: 5 October 2026. We read it three ways that day, as rendered text, as the raw page tables and as the one-page PDF of the grid (last modified 11 October 2024), and every point value and maximum agreed.
Factor 1, language proficiency: up to 125 points
| First official language | Points for each of the four bands |
|---|---|
| CLB 8 or higher | 25 per band |
| CLB 7 | 22 per band |
| CLB 6 | 20 per band |
| CLB 5 | 17 per band |
| CLB 4 | 12 per band |
| CLB 3 or lower | 0 per band |
| Second official language | Points |
|---|---|
| CLB 5 or higher (overall) | 25 |
| Maximum points, language | 125 |
Points are based on your Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level in each of reading, writing, listening and speaking, from the equivalent of your IELTS, CELPIP, TEF or TCF result. Your second official language is the one, English or French, in which you are less proficient, and you should claim its 25 points only if you hold a valid test showing CLB 5 or higher. A test result you declare must come with a valid test number, or the profile can miss a draw it would otherwise be in. If you need to convert a score, use our CLB calculator.
Factor 2, age: up to 75 points
| Age when the EOI is submitted | Points |
|---|---|
| 18 | 20 |
| 19 | 30 |
| 20 | 40 |
| 21 to 45 | 75 |
| 46 | 40 |
| 47 | 30 |
| 48 | 20 |
| 49 | 10 |
| 50 or older | 0 |
Factor 3, work experience: up to 175 points
| Years of work experience | Points |
|---|---|
| Less than one year | 0 |
| One year | 40 |
| Two years | 50 |
| Three years | 60 |
| Four years or more | 75 |
| Fully recognized by provincial licensing body | 100 |
You count the full years of work you completed in the 5 years before the day you submit. Only full-time employment counts, meaning at least 30 hours of work in a week, and only jobs where you worked for an employer for six months or more. Manitoba does not round up: 3 years and 10 months counts as 3 years. The extra 100 points are for people in a profession or trade that needs a licence in Manitoba who have completed every step to be licensed. Having credentials assessed does not count, and claiming the points without being able to prove it gets an application refused and can bring a 2-year ban on submitting another EOI (immigratemanitoba.com, EOI FAQ).
Factor 4, education: up to 125 points
| Highest level of completed education | Points |
|---|---|
| Master's degree or doctorate | 125 |
| Two post-secondary programs of at least two years each | 115 |
| One post-secondary program of three years or more | 110 |
| One post-secondary program of two years | 100 |
| One-year post-secondary program | 70 |
| Trade certificate | 70 |
| No formal post-secondary education | 0 |
Factor 5, adaptability: up to 500 points
| Connection to Manitoba | Points |
|---|---|
| Close relative in Manitoba | 200 |
| Previous authorized work experience in Manitoba (six months or more) | 100 |
| Completed post-secondary program in Manitoba (two years or more) | 100 |
| Completed post-secondary program in Manitoba (one year) | 50 |
| Close friend or distant relative in Manitoba | 50 |
| Maximum subtotal, connection | 200 |
| Manitoba Demand | Points |
|---|---|
| Ongoing employment in Manitoba for six months or more with long-term job offer from the same employer | 500 |
| Invitation to Apply under a Strategic Initiative | 500 |
| Maximum subtotal, Manitoba Demand | 500 |
| Regional development | Points |
|---|---|
| Immigration destination in Manitoba outside of Winnipeg | 50 |
| Maximum points, adaptability | 500 |
Adaptability is the largest factor. Every candidate must have at least one type of connection to the province, and Manitoba scores your highest one. The two Manitoba Demand levels, ongoing employment with a long-term job offer from the same employer and an Invitation to Apply under a strategic initiative, are worth 500 each. Regional development points are not added to Manitoba Demand, which is why the factor tops out at 500. Anyone planning to settle outside Winnipeg must show, when they apply, a convincing connection to a region outside the capital city.
Factor 6, risk assessment: down to -200 points
| Risk factor | Points |
|---|---|
| Close relative in another province and no close relative in Manitoba | 0 |
| Work experience in another province | -100 |
| Studies in another province | -100 |
| Previous immigration application to another province | 0 |
| Maximum points, risk | -200 |
Manitoba treats a connection to another province as a sign that Manitoba may not be your first choice of destination. It does not make you ineligible, and Manitoba says candidates who had points deducted for it have been considered in every draw to date. Answer yes to a previous application only if the destination on it was a province other than Manitoba (immigratemanitoba.com, EOI FAQ).
How is the maximum MPNP score worked out?
Manitoba states each factor's maximum and the total on the one-page grid. Adding the five positive factors gives 1,000 points: 125 for language, 75 for age, 175 for work experience, 125 for education and 500 for adaptability. The risk factors only subtract, by up to 200, so a score is the sum of the five factors less any deductions. The calculator applies the same rules, including the two that are easy to miss: language is four separate scores, and regional development is not added to Manitoba Demand.
How do I use this MPNP calculator?
Using this MPNP calculator takes about two minutes. It asks one question at a time, in the same order as Manitoba's grid, and then asks for your name and email to reveal your estimated EOI score with the full breakdown.
- 01
Enter your language results
Pick your CLB level in reading, writing, listening and speaking, then say whether you hold a valid test in the other official language. Our CLB calculator converts IELTS, CELPIP, TEF and TCF scores.
- 02
Answer the profile questions
Answer about your age, years of work in the last 5 years, licensing, education and your strongest connection to Manitoba, then the two questions on work and study in other provinces.
- 03
Reveal your score
Add your name and email to reveal your estimated EOI score out of 1,000, with the breakdown by factor and the comparison with recent draws. The same breakdown is emailed to you.
- 04
Check the requirements
A score is not eligibility. Check your work permit, employment, language and education against the requirements for Skilled Worker in Manitoba or Skilled Worker Overseas before you submit.
What are the MPNP cut-off scores in 2026?
Manitoba does not publish one cut-off. Each draw notice lists one or more selections, and only top-scoring selections state the “ranking score of lowest-ranked candidate invited”. In the 5 most recent top-scoring selections, through Draw #280 on 24 September 2026, that score ran from 632 to 825 (immigratemanitoba.com, EOI draws, checked 5 October 2026).
| Draw | Date | Top-scoring selection | Lowest score invited |
|---|---|---|---|
| #280 | 24 September 2026 | Current Manitoba employment, broad occupational category 2 (natural and applied sciences) | 760 |
| #279 | 10 September 2026 | Applicant or spouse completed post-secondary study in Manitoba | 825 |
| #278 | 27 August 2026 | Current Manitoba employment, NOC major group 72 (technical trades and transportation) | 731 |
| #276 | 30 July 2026 | Current Manitoba employment, broad occupational category 9 (manufacturing and utilities) | 632 |
| #275 | 16 July 2026 | Applicant or spouse completed post-secondary study in Manitoba | 825 |
Each selection is limited to a group. The 2026 top-scoring selections were for profiles declaring current Manitoba employment in a named occupational group, or candidates who, or whose spouse, completed post-secondary study in Manitoba, so a score of 760 in one group says nothing about the score needed in another. Occupation-specific selections invite every eligible profile in the listed NOC codes whatever the score, and strategic initiative invitations go to people the MPNP or a partner has approached directly. On skilled workers from overseas, the MPNP's notice for Draw #280 says that Expressions of Interest from Skilled Worker Stream candidates were considered only if the candidate was directly invited under a strategic recruitment initiative or through the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits, and the score-based selections that round were limited to profiles declaring current Manitoba employment or Manitoba post-secondary study. Every round is on our Manitoba PNP draws tracker, and the notices are on the MPNP draws page.
Three worked MPNP score examples
Each score below follows the same grid as the calculator, so you can reproduce every figure by entering the same answers. All three are aged 21 to 45 with no work or study in another province.
| Factor | Welder working in Winnipeg | Manitoba graduate working in Manitoba | Master's graduate overseas, relative in Brandon |
|---|---|---|---|
| First official language (reading, writing, listening, speaking) | reading CLB 7, writing CLB 7, listening CLB 8 or higher, speaking CLB 7 (91) | reading CLB 8 or higher, writing CLB 8 or higher, listening CLB 8 or higher, speaking CLB 8 or higher (100) | reading CLB 7, writing CLB 7, listening CLB 7, speaking CLB 7 (88) |
| Second official language (CLB 5 or higher overall) | Below CLB 5 or no test (0) | Below CLB 5 or no test (0) | Below CLB 5 or no test (0) |
| Age | 21 to 45 (75) | 21 to 45 (75) | 21 to 45 (75) |
| Years of work experience (last 5 years) | Three years (60) | Two years (50) | Four years or more (75) |
| Fully recognized by the provincial licensing body | Not claimed (0) | Not claimed (0) | Not claimed (0) |
| Highest level of completed education | Trade certificate (70) | One post-secondary program of three years or more (110) | Master's degree or doctorate (125) |
| Connection to Manitoba | Ongoing employment in Manitoba for six months or more with long-term job offer from the same employer (500) | Ongoing employment in Manitoba for six months or more with long-term job offer from the same employer (500) | Close relative in Manitoba (200) |
| Regional development (destination outside Winnipeg) | Not added to Manitoba Demand (0) | Not added to Manitoba Demand (0) | Immigration destination in Manitoba outside of Winnipeg (50) |
| Risk factors | None declared (0) | None declared (0) | None declared (0) |
| Total score | 796 of 1,000 | 835 of 1,000 | 613 of 1,000 |
The welder reaches 796, and 500 of those points are Manitoba Demand from ongoing work for the same employer. Without that employment, and with only a close relative in the province, the same profile scores 496. The graduate reaches 835 on the same 500 plus a strong language result. The overseas candidate has the strongest education and experience of the three but scores 613, because a close relative earns 200 against the 500 of Manitoba Demand. Set against the 5 recent top-scoring minimums (632 to 825), the welder's score is at or above 3 of them, the graduate's 5 and the overseas candidate's 0, and each minimum applies only to candidates inside that selection.
How can you improve your MPNP score?
If your estimate is lower than you want, several factors can change with time or effort. These are the moves that carry the most points on the grid:
- Manitoba connection: Manitoba Demand is worth 500, a close relative 200 and a completed Manitoba program of two years or more or previous authorized work in Manitoba 100, so the strongest connection you can honestly claim decides more of the score than any other factor.
- Language: each of the four bands earns 25 at CLB 8 or higher against 22 at CLB 7, 20 at CLB 6, 17 at CLB 5 and 12 at CLB 4, so lifting one band from CLB 4 to CLB 8 is worth 13 points, and lifting all four is worth 52. A valid test in the other official language at CLB 5 or higher adds 25.
- Licensing: if your occupation is regulated in Manitoba and you complete every licensing step, Manitoba adds 100 points on top of your years of experience.
- Work experience: full years in the last 5 earn 40, 50, 60 and 75 for one, two, three and four or more, and Manitoba does not round up a part year.
- Education: a master's degree or doctorate earns 125, two post-secondary programs of two years each 115, and one program of three years or more 110.
- Regional development: a destination outside Winnipeg adds 50 to a connection other than Manitoba Demand, but only with a real social or economic connection to that community.
- Other provinces: work or study in another province takes off 100 each, and you cannot undo it, so it is a factor to weigh when you choose where to work or study.
A licensed RCIC can tell you which of these are worth pursuing for your profile before you spend money on tests, credentials or assessments.
MPNP EOI score vs Express Entry CRS: what is the difference?
Manitoba scores your EOI out of 1,000on its own grid to rank the MPNP pool, while IRCC scores your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) profile out of 1,200 to rank the Express Entry pool, so the two numbers are not comparable. They connect after an invitation: Manitoba reports how many of the Letters of Advice to Apply in each draw went to candidates with a valid Express Entry profile number, and a provincial nomination adds 600 points to that candidate's CRS score. Estimate the federal score with our CRS calculator.
A score is not eligibility
If you are weighing Manitoba against another province, our AAIP calculator scores the Alberta Worker EOI out of 100 on Alberta's own grid, and the Provincial Nominee Program overview compares every province.
Estimate your MPNP score, then get a licensed RCIC to check it
Once the calculator gives you a number, the next step is checking that you meet every pathway requirement, because a score does not make you eligible. Wild Mountain Immigration is led by a licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC #R706497), and we work online with clients across Canada and abroad. We can check your profile against the grid, your connection to Manitoba and your Express Entry options, so get started when you are ready. Frequently asked questions
What is an MPNP points calculator?
An MPNP points calculator is a free tool that estimates the ranking score the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program gives your Expression of Interest (EOI), using the grid published on immigratemanitoba.com. This one scores up to 1,000 points across six factors, shows how each factor adds up and sets the result against Manitoba's recent draw scores. You add your name and email at the end to reveal the score, and the breakdown is emailed to you.
How many points is the MPNP EOI out of?
The MPNP EOI ranking grid adds up to 1,000 points: language proficiency 125, age 75, work experience 175, education 125 and adaptability 500. Risk factors can then take off up to 200. Manitoba prints "Maximum Overall Points: 1000" on the one-page version of the grid (immigratemanitoba.com, checked 5 October 2026).
What is a good MPNP score in 2026?
It depends on the selection you fall inside, because Manitoba publishes a lowest score only for its top-scoring selections. In the 5 most recent ones the lowest score invited ran from 632 to 825, through Draw #280 on 24 September 2026 (immigratemanitoba.com, checked 5 October 2026). Occupation-specific selections and direct invitations publish no score.
Is there a minimum MPNP score to submit an EOI?
Manitoba's EOI page states no minimum ranking score for submitting an EOI, and it says there is no limit on the number of candidates or any deadline. Every candidate must still have at least one type of connection to Manitoba and meet the requirements of the pathway. An EOI stays valid for 12 months (immigratemanitoba.com, checked 5 October 2026).
Which MPNP streams use this points grid?
The EOI ranking system applies to the pathways under the Skilled Worker Stream (Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas) and under the International Education Stream. The Business Investor Stream has its own separate EOI process and does not use this grid (immigratemanitoba.com, Expression of Interest page).
How are language points calculated for the MPNP?
Each of reading, writing, listening and speaking is scored on its own in your first official language, and the four are added: 25 points per band at CLB 8 or higher, 22 at CLB 7, 20 at CLB 6, 17 at CLB 5 and 12 at CLB 4, so up to 100. CLB 5 or higher overall in the other official language adds 25, with a valid test (immigratemanitoba.com, checked 5 October 2026).
How are Manitoba connection points calculated?
Manitoba scores only your highest connection. A close relative in Manitoba earns 200, previous authorized work in Manitoba of six months or more earns 100, a completed Manitoba post-secondary program of two years or more earns 100, one year earns 50, and a close friend or distant relative earns 50. The two Manitoba Demand levels earn 500 each (immigratemanitoba.com, checked 5 October 2026).
How many MPNP points does a job in Manitoba give?
Ongoing employment in Manitoba for six months or more with a long-term job offer from the same employer earns 500 Manitoba Demand points, half of the 1,000. A job offer alone does not earn them: the 500 needs six months or more of ongoing work for that employer first, and Skilled Worker in Manitoba applicants must demonstrate that employment (immigratemanitoba.com, checked 5 October 2026).
Do you lose MPNP points for a connection to another province?
Yes, for two of them: work experience in another province takes off 100 points and studies in another province take off 100, for up to 200. A close relative in another province, with none in Manitoba, and a previous application to another province cost nothing but must still be declared. Answer for both you and your spouse (immigratemanitoba.com, checked 5 October 2026).
How long does an MPNP EOI last, and what does it cost?
An MPNP EOI stays valid for 12 months from the day you submit it, and submitting costs nothing. You can edit it after submitting, and changes to your points show in your account, but editing does not extend the 12 months. You can hold only one active EOI at a time (immigratemanitoba.com, EOI page and EOI FAQ, checked 5 October 2026).
Can I be invited to apply to the MPNP from overseas in 2026?
Only through a direct invitation in the 2026 notices read so far. The MPNP's notice for Draw #280 on 24 September 2026 says Skilled Worker Stream Expressions of Interest were considered only if the candidate was directly invited under a strategic recruitment initiative or the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits, so a high score alone did not produce an invitation (immigratemanitoba.com, checked 5 October 2026).
Does an MPNP nomination add 600 Express Entry points?
A provincial nomination adds 600 points to the Comprehensive Ranking System score of a candidate in the Express Entry pool, which is IRCC's rule. Manitoba reports how many Letters of Advice to Apply in each draw went to candidates with a valid Express Entry profile number: 148 of the 474 in Draw #280 on 24 September 2026 (immigratemanitoba.com, checked 5 October 2026).
Is this MPNP points calculator an official Manitoba tool?
This MPNP points calculator is not an official Manitoba tool: it is an estimate that Wild Mountain Immigration built from the ranking grid on immigratemanitoba.com. Manitoba scores your actual EOI from the answers you submit and checks them against documents at the application stage, so your official score can differ. We are a CICC-regulated immigration consultancy and are not affiliated with the Government of Manitoba or the Government of Canada.
Will the MPNP points grid change?
The MPNP points grid can change, because Manitoba sets and updates it itself. The one-page PDF of the grid carries a last-modified date of 11 October 2024, and the live EOI page showed the same values when we checked on 5 October 2026. This calculator follows the grid as read on 5 October 2026, and we re-check it when Manitoba announces a change.
