Two features of this market matter for immigration. First, most of the volume is in TEER 3 to 5 jobs, which do not qualify for Express Entry but do qualify for Alberta's provincial streams; that is why the AAIP is the centre of gravity here rather than the federal system. Who should not move to Canmore first
We would rather say this now than after you sign a lease sight unseen. If you are a family of four on one income, Canmore rents will eat it. If your profession is one with few local employers, law, finance, most corporate roles, you will be competing for a handful of jobs against people who already live here. If you need a car and cannot afford one, the first winter will be hard. If your immigration route is Express Entry with no Alberta nomination, nothing about Canmore helps your score.
