Two features of that record matter to anyone reading the OINP draws as a forecast. First, every 2026 round required the candidate to be in Canada already, on a valid work or study permit, with an Ontario job offer; not one invited from the overseas Express Entry pool, and the Human Capital Priorities stream issued nothing at all before it was removed. Second, the minimum scores tracked targeting rather than demand: 20 was enough for a nurse or an early childhood educator on 8 April, while a general employer round in Eastern Ontario on 23 April needed 63. The new stream's points grid rewards the same things those rounds did, wages, region, Ontario work experience and a valid permit, so the pattern should carry over even though the numbers will not.

What the 25 June 2026 redesign changed for OINP draws

The new stream keeps the expression of interest model that produced the OINP draws above: your employer registers the position in the Employer Portal and gives you a job offer ID, you submit a registration, Ontario scores it on a published grid (wage, region, Ontario work experience, Canadian earnings, work permit, education and language) and invites the highest scores. The Director can still target occupations, sectors and regions exactly as in the table. Expect continued priority for health care, early childhood education, skilled trades, mining and agriculture; regional rounds that favour Northern, Eastern, Southwestern and Central Ontario over Toronto, since region alone is worth up to 15 points; and physician rounds through the self-employed route. How to read an OINP draw notice

Each ontario.ca notice gives the date, the number of invitations, the stream, the minimum score, whether candidates had to be in Canada, and a list of NOC codes or a region. The list is the important part: an invitation goes only to registrations whose job offer NOC and location match. A candidate scoring 70 with a job in Toronto in an occupation outside the list is not invited by a health care round at 20. Check your five-digit code with the NOC code finder and confirm its TEER category before assuming a round applied to you. Invitations also set short deadlines: under the new stream the employer has 14 days to apply for approval of the position and the worker 17 days to file, so a registration you are not watching can lapse.

OINP draw history: the pattern behind the 2026 numbers

Read as a series rather than a list, the OINP draw history for 2026 falls into four types. Occupational rounds carried the volume: health care and early childhood education twice, skilled trades once, mining once, agriculture and other priority occupations once, together roughly 6,800 invitations at minimums between 20 and 56. Regional rounds came in blocks on 25 March and 23 April, pricing Toronto highest and Northern Ontario lowest. Physician rounds were small and frequent, at 33 to 43. Graduate rounds ran twice for Masters and PhD candidates before both streams closed. Nothing in that sequence is a schedule, but it does tell you what Ontario buys with its allocation, and the new points grid was written to buy the same things.

Was there an OINP draw today?

Ontario publishes no calendar, so the honest answer on most days is no. In 2026 the invitations arrived in clusters, several rounds sharing a single date, then weeks of silence, and then a pause of more than three months around the redesign. The only official source is the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program updates page on ontario.ca, which this page mirrors with the invitations and minimum score for every round. If you already hold a registration, check your OINP account too: an invitation lands there and starts the clock, and no general email goes out. OINP draws against the other provinces

Ontario invites more people than any province, but every 2026 invitation required an Ontario job offer and in-Canada status, which makes the OINP a poor first choice from overseas. The Alberta PNP draw record shows Express Entry Stream rounds pulled straight from the federal pool for in-demand occupations and French speakers with no job offer; British Columbia runs SIRS rounds by priority category; Manitoba invites through its own expression of interest with occupation-specific rounds. If you are outside Canada, the Ontario record says look elsewhere first. The CRS calculator and the Alberta PNP points calculator score you for the routes that do not need an Ontario employer, and a nomination from any of them still adds 600 CRS points to an Express Entry profile for a TEER 0 to 3 job.
